The 9 Top Grammy Celebs That Stole the Night
Rarely which event can top the Grammy Awards. This year, the 59th celebration of music raised the bar again with unforgettable performances, amazing speeches and drop-dead-gorgeous gowns and suits. We didn’t even blink to catch all the glamor and glitz.
There were jokes, a malfunction here and there, fantastic tributes, and most importantly something to talk about for days. From Adele, Beyoncé, and Katy Perry to Bruno Mars and Metallica, our jaws were on the floor and we’re sure yours were, too. I mean, who can stay calm at the sight of Beyoncé’s baby bump and Adele breaking the Grammy?
Anyway, we had a spectacular night, so let’s sort out our impressions and see whose look absolutely stole the show at the Grammys.
James Corden
He will definitely go down in Grammy history as one of the best hosts ever together with his epic carpool karaoke. The Late Late Show’s very own James Corden brought freshness and humor as he made his mark on the awards ceremony, rapping his monolog. His words weren’t the only attention-stealers though. His dashing light suit attracted everyone’s attention at the red carpet.
Adele
Guys, where is Adele’s crown? The queen of emotion and heart-ripping songs belted those high notes as if they were a joke. She scored five out of five nominations, bringing the crowds on their feet. You deserve it, girl. She also shone in wonderful olive and black outfits. And she proved her greatness alright. From the tearful George Michael tribute to breaking the Grammy to share it with Beyoncé, Adele held our attention in her grasp all the time.
Beyoncé
Adele’s rival of the night didn’t miss a chance to show off her cute baby bump accompanied by her family. Her time on the stage proved once again why she is the best performer, stealing the spotlight and winning two Grammys. That gravity-defying nine-minute performance spiced up the atmosphere and made the celebs emotional. Queen Bey simply marveled in gold and everyone couldn’t agree more.
Bruno Mars
Mr. Bruno Mars absolutely brought the 24K magic to the Grammys. He looked great sporting his casual look and smiling to the crowd and the cameras. So irresistible! But then he turned the tables with his Prince tribute. The Uptown Funk singer evoked tears from the present at the Staples Center as well as from viewers at home. Dressed in Prince’s iconic outfit, Mr. Mars made us remember why we love Prince. We still can’t get over that performance.
Katy Perry
Yup, she’s back. If there was an award for the best comeback, we know who would take home the trophy. Katy Perry was dazzling in her shiny feathered dress ornamented with cute sequins. Oh, and we’re loving the blonde hair. Her performance brought a fierce energy to the stage as she delivered a political message. She truly chained us to the rhythm in that Tom Ford white suit.
The Weeknd
The second performance of the night got everyone dancing. Teaming up with Daft Punk, the starboy had a performance to be proud of. His black outfit perfectly fitted his authentic style we know and love. And the boys from Daft Punk were a pleasant addition. Although he wasn’t nominated for any awards, he takes home the award for one of the best fashion looks.
Metallica and Lady Gaga
Yes, there was a malfunction with the microphone, but that didn’t stop the worldwide sensations Metallica and Lady Gaga from bringing the fire. Literally! The duet we’ve all been waiting for, Metallica and Lady Gaga, made our hearts flutter, exceeding the expectations. Woo hoo, that’s star power overload! And the best thing is, they teased another future collaboration even before the show. We can’t wait!
Jennifer Lopez
The Grammys aren’t what they are without the appearance of the stunning JLo. Even though she wasn’t performing, she smashed it in her candy pink dress that made her curves stand out. Saying a word or two about the love she has for Drake, she sent the internet into a frenzy. Also, she presented the award for best new artist which eventually went into the hands of Chance the Rapper, bringing us back to the time when she was nominated for that award herself.
Chance the Rapper
Pleasantly surprising, Chance the Rapper grabbed three trophies including the one for best new artist. The Chicago-born star couldn’t hide his excitement as he walked the red carpet as well as when he received the awards. And we all loved his laid back gray suit and brown cap. Not to mention that his performance accompanied by a choir and the lyrics to “All We Got” additionally pumped up the evening. There’s definitely more to come from this fellow.
The take-away from the awards ceremony is that the world’s brightest music stars are shining and gleaming as ever. Thanks, Grammys, for another unforgettable night!
