He did wait until Richards’ case died down, but Jerry Seinfeld also put in his penny’s worth as far as multiculturalism is concerned. “It really pisses me off,” he said on air in a BuzzFeed Brews with CBS This Morning interview, when inquired about equal representation on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. “People think [comedy] is the census or something, it’s gotta represent the actual pie chart of America. Who cares?” He didn’t stop at that: “Funny is the world that I live in. You’re funny, I’m interested. You’re not funny, I’m not interested.” Although the second part of his remark, when he’s not trying to be savvy about demographics, is quite down to earth, his opinions were dressed down by every key magazine. Kind of ironic when you think that his own show was, according to the black community, entirely cut off from their world, which went unrepresented.
