See What the Game of Thrones Cast Has to Say About Jon Snow
Season six of Game of Thrones is finally well visible on the horizon, so the cast all showed up at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre on Sunday to celebrate the grand premiere. And how relieved they all seemed! They would finally get some rest from the inquisitive fan frenzy. Do you know anyone who hasn’t spent the last year wondering… is Jon Snow really gone for good? The number of stars who have the luck of having survived up till now, amongst them Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, Peter Dinklage, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Lena Headey, had a lot to say before the HBO premiere scheduled for April 24.

“Lots of people have asked me about Jon and lots of people have been very disappointed,” Maisie Williams admitted. “It’s really a shame that he is not here this season, but there are loads of other interesting story lines—like mine!” We definitely agree there will be a lot of development into Arya.
Dean-Charles Chapman (Tommen Baratheon) actually had a horrible encounter on the train station. He was trying to get into his compartment, but the fans didn’t let him and the train actually left before he could board. “When they said, ‘Is Jon Snow dead?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ But they didn’t want to believe me. The truth hurts. Especially on Game of Thrones.”

Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne) can’t understand why everyone’s so surprised now, only after it is Jon Snow who passed. “How many people have died on Game of Thrones? Get over it! That’s what I say! I know it’s a bit harsh, but get over it—there are loads of other characters for you to be getting on with.”
Faye Dunaway says it won’t actually be difficult for her to carry on watching the show without Jon Snow. Her main focus is on the strong female characters in the show.
“My cup of tea currently is Gwendoline Christie’s Brienne,” she announced. “Isn’t she great? A strong warrior, and she is going to have a bigger part in Season 6. And I love Emilia’s Daenerys Targaryen too.”

Dunaway is really impressed with Martin’s universe although she hasn’t even read the books. She is so immersed that she takes notice of everything that happens in the show. “I take notes on the direction and the performances and just try to learn from the work. I look up the characters online too to find out more than I already know.”
Meanwhile, Clarke was quick to describe her character as “kind of a badass so you never really need to worry.” Dunaway won’t have a reason to mourn anytime soon, it seems.
Maisie Williams is quite excited for everyone to see her character in a whole new dimension. Arya was usually another female badass, strong-willed and strong-armed, a great fighter and someone who’d never give up. Now, with her sight gone, she will definitely be more up for compassion than for passion.

“This is really the first time we’ve seen her as an underdog. Lots of people think she is their favorite character, and now we are going to see if people stick by her. Everybody can like the little girl who tells grown men what to do because that is funny. But now we are going to see her at a really low point.”
According to David Benioff, season six “was a beast to make”. The co-producer admitted that no undertaking he’d participated in was comparable in terms of scale. “We shot 680 hours of dailies, which translates to 3.7 million feet of film. We shot in five different countries—Northern Ireland, Spain, Croatia, Iceland, and Canada.”
Game of Thrones is surely watched in more than five countries, though; maybe more than five continents? It’s no wonder that the fans will often come across their idols and feel like it’s the major event of their life, while the actors are just trying to go about their day.
“Twice it happened when I was at the gym, in the shower, and someone looked at me and went, ‘What are you doing here? Can I have a picture?’” Nikolaj Coster-Waldau complained. “Not now!” Not a surprise that Jaime Lannister needs to work-out to look as good.

Hannah Murray (Gilly), on the other hand, experienced the most interesting border-entry interview I’ve heard of. The officer actually inquired about the series’ plot instead of herself. “Normally I don’t like to broadcast that I am an actor or on this show, but this time I was like, ‘I’ll just tell you everything because you might not let me into the country!’”
“I’ve been asked about Game of Thrones at a funeral—my grandmother’s funeral last year,” Portman complained. “Somebody used the reception afterwards to try to pry answers out of me in my emotional state. Awful! Vultures!”

“There have been times where I am in a massive panic, like my puppy is running off,” remembered Williams. “And I’ll be like, ‘Excuse me! Can you help me! Can you get my dog?’ And they’ll be like, ‘You’re that girl from Game of Thrones. I’m like, ‘Yeah but my puppy is going to escape.’”
No Game of Thrones actor is allowed to share anything about the story with the public before the episode containing the detail has aired. We’ve heard, though, that the actors’ mothers are the best at squeezing the spoilers out of them – comes to no surprise! HBO are even more afraid now, though, than they used to be when the show was first released. With the pirates always getting hold of new seasons in advance, this time HBO didn’t release any advance screeners. It’s April 24 for everyone!

We won’t be able to tell you anything right now, either. It was Cersei Lannister who personally informed: “Those who violate these rules will be boiled alive in their children’s blood.” I don’t have children, but I’m not willing to risk it, still.
