Scathing Report on Mexico by United States Intelligence Community

It’s a whole new era for Mexico as the United States grow colder, the economy is slowing down, and there’s no calming down for the unsettled populace. According to the United States Intelligence Community, that makes for the possibility of the left-wing party winning the 2018 presidential election. The growing inequality might push voters to consider supporting the opposition. There may be consequences to the government’s corrupt actions and incompetence: social unrest is growing and although the majority of manifestations have been peaceful, some reached a dangerous level of violence. If Mexicans’ frustration keeps growing, there’s no telling what the future might bring and the US Intelligence Community is afraid of the worst. Mexican authorities are not willing to let go of their immense benefits in order to better the situation of the people; however, their unwillingness to change is being well-documented on the social media. The internet right now forms a breeding ground for a spontaneous upheaval.

Pictured in the center of the photo, Joaquín Hernández Sifuentes, vicar of the Saltillo parish, was found dead yesterday. He had been missing since January 3. The cause of his death remains unknown. However, it’s unlikely that his passing was innocent. Last September three priests were assassinated over the course of one week in Mexico, with bodies of two of them bearing signs of having been tortured. Thirty one priests have been murdered in Mexico over the last decade, and the country is deemed the most dangerous Latin American nation in which to be a priest. Sifuentes’ alleged murder may well be connected to the growing social unrest. Privileged groups, such as police and military, have also been targets of attacks since 2017 began.

Blatant Corruption on the Rise amongst the Higher Ups

Javier Duarte, ex-governor of Veracruz, will be infamously remembered for much more than being just another corrupt official. He went on the run in a most grotesque way, leaving 23,000,000 pesos (more than $1,000,000) behind. The cash was stacked in cardboard boxes in a house in the capital. $9,000,000 of dirty money that Duarte was supposed to receive were fortunately restored and will be used to aid the state of Veracruz. What makes Duarte’s actions even more repugnant is the fact that the state he governed is one of the poorest in the country, indebted by almost 2,000 millions of dollars. The frustration of Mexicans comes to no surprise when they have to endure such indignities.

Blackberry Producers Consider Leaving Michoacan out of Fear

The area of Los Reyes seems less and less safe to blackberry producers and packers. Various companies established in its vicinity are afraid that social unrest will hurt their investment returns. Blackberries and avocados are what brings the most revenue to the area; an exodus on the part of fruit companies would mean Michoacan’s demise.

“Companies don’t find the conditions to invest in Michoacan; we had to house the representatives of an American company that were visiting the state for the first time in Uruapan, to avoid the risk of them running into a blockage or mobilization. Unfortunately, when they were going to Los Reyes they were assaulted and the criminals stole everything from them, including their documents. They were people that were planning to invest more than 400 million pesos in Michoacan, but after this they never came back,”

the local deputy said.

With events such as this one taking place in Mexico, it comes to no surprise that fear for the future of this nation is overwhelming. The raport by United States Intelligence Community makes the situation seem even more serious – when American bureaus get involved, there is always something more to it than meets the eye… Stay with us and you won’t miss any new development of the Mexican crisis.
