Best Season 6 Theories Based on Newest GoT Trailer
Comes to no surprise that HBO would have wanted to keep to themselves as much as possible about season 6 of Game of Thrones. This time, we can’t really base our speculations on the book original, as tome six is yet to be released. But there’s only a week before season 6 hits the screens, so we’ve finally gotten our hands on a really meaty trailer… Meaty when you know what to look at! Some clues might have gone unnoticed by you if you concentrated too much on the battles and the fires, so if you’re not afraid of spoilers – take a look at our list.
Davos + Sansa = <3

So it seems like Davos is on one well-defined side in Season 6, as he’s seen riding into battle with the Stark banner leading the way. If you take a look at what happens to Sansa in the last trailer, you may reach the conclusion that the two’s fates may be intertwined: we mean “the dead are coming” scene in particular. There is another banner behind Davos and if our eyesight doesn’t fool us, it may be House Mormont that is involved. Ser Jorah’s fmer home is now under the reign of Lyanna, a 10-year-old noble lady whose loyalties used to lie with Stannis. Will she accept Sansa as her new queen with no other Starks in sight?

“It’s definitely the biggest [action sequence yet]. We’ve always wanted to get to a place—story-wise and budget-wise and time-wise and resource-wise—where we would be able to do a proper battle, with one army on one side, one army on another side.” According to Bryan Cogman, the producer of season 6, the game of thrones might get particularly bloody this time. In the trailer we can see not only some flaming Bolton crosses, but also literal piles of bodies amongst a battle fought by thousands of footman.

Sansa won’t have forgotten what the Boltons did to her family. In the trailer Walder Frey seems to be enjoying his favorite activity, doing away with a whole room of people at once. Who are they? Groom and bride maybe? The soldiers look like Lannisters, though – we shall see what Frey is really up to.
Brienne and Pod fed up with the north

It looks like the pair are up for some real trouble and the trailer suggests that as well as the books do. According to Kevin Fitzpatrick from Screencrush, the guy grasping at Pod’s neck may be Bronn – just look at the gloves. As the bookworms may remember, delving into the Tully territory in Book 4 didn’t end well for the knight lady and her squire, and now the two are finally close to the Riverlands. Will the reason be the Boltons?
Another one in the Riverlands

So on top of Brienne & Pod, Jaime is also back in the Riverlands – at least it appears so, by the looks of the red tents he rides next to. Jaime is yet another character who’s back to his righteous plot from Book 4 – maybe he’ll see Brienne again? He’s probably in the Riverlands in order to do away with Tully presence in the region, so the knight lady won’t be happy about this one.
Some more red

After the red faith’s visible debacle around King’s Landing, it picks up in Essos – Tyrion and Varys encounter another Red Woman in Mereen. Played by the Israeli Ania Bukstein, the sorceress may be a sign of the religion’s impending rebirthing.

It’s probably just some special effects magic combined with trickiness of trailer producers, but in the last scene of the video it does look as if one of Daenerys’ dragons is trying to fry the poor guy. It would probably be too obvious an ending for Tyrion, but the theory is still worthy of being mentioned. Tyrion might not be offed so easily, but oh, how pretty his face would be with some more burns.
Some more spoiler-based theories here: in the book, Quentyn Martell of Dorne ends up burnt badly after he thinks he can ride a dragon just because there’s some Targaryen blood in his veins. He makes a pretty roast, not so much of a pretty dragon rider, and serves as an example of the disservice you can do yourself if you deem yourself worthy of getting to close to a dragon. Now, with Quentyn Martell not going to make another episode of the show, could Tyrion be the one to play this part? According to some theories, he may have Targaryen blood in him, too… But will it be enough?
