We’re going to see Friends again!? What joy and what commotion ensued when we found out we’d have yet another chance to meet everyone’s favorites, the characters we’ve been missing for so many years. Many a fan would kill for a chance to see Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey, and Phoebe in one room… Unfortunately (or maybe it’s for the best!) there was nothing to kill for, as the Friends’ reunion was far from the reunion that we wanted to witness – and there were no friends at all.
We did get to meet the actors, though; David, Jennifer, Courtney, Matt, and Lisa brought together in memory of director James Burrows. Someone is missing and yes, it’s Matthew Perry – the guy was apparently too involved in a West End play to appear. So there were no Friends and it wasn’t even the full squad, but it still brings joy to a fan to see the lot in one room; lets us pretend Central Perk is still they’re favorite venue… Luckily, we still heard a bunch of hot gossip and fun facts about Friends, so… read on!
Friends Reunion First Detail.
Remember The One With All The Poker, a memorable episode from a way back then, in the first season? The one where the guys played poker and Rachel ended up showing Ross who’s the boss… Although he might have let her? That story actually happened in real life and ended up transferred to the show thanks to Burrows’ influence. The actors wanted to create a true affinity and, well, befriend each other – just like in the show. (Yes, they’re best friends, I know, they really are…) So they played poker – James Burrows even let them use his dressing room. Because, you know, they were so anonymous back then that Burrows’ place was more spacious than any of theirs… He then ended up directing an episode inspired by his own doings.
