Ray was one of the rare lucky guys of the high school drop-out type – he bailed from school to participate in a casting and he immediately won it and starred in Fame. His career didn’t have too many high points after that, but he will still be remembered for more than just leading a life of a homeless after nobody wanted to use his acting services. He was diagnosed with HIV in 1996 and passed away in 2003 – that’s when we actually found out about his virus thanks to his mother’s openness.
