Umpqua Community College Killings
Student Christopher Harper-Mercer had a history of problems. Harper-Mercer graduated high school from the Switzer Learning Center in Torrance, Calif.. The center specializes in helping students with learning disabilities and emotional issues. After that he had a very brief stint in the Army. He was discharged prior to completing basic training. He was able to legally purchase six guns which were involved in the shootings which killed nine people.
