New Year’s Eve is a time to reflect on the year that was. It’s also a time to party like its 1999 as Prince said. Welcome the future in with one heck of an event. There are a number of amazing destinations around the globe to bring in the New Year.  These places would be great additions to anyone’s travel bucket list.

Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas is an exciting destination any time of year. But they kick up their party game on New Year’s Eve. The Las Vegas Strip, the area Russell to Sahara which includes all the notable hotels transforms into an epic party scene up until midnight. People walk around the strip wearing party outfits, crazy hats, glasses and wigs. Everyone gathers at midnight outside to enjoy an amazing lights and fireworks display.

New Orleans

Ain’t no party like a Mardi Gras party except when it comes New Year’s Eve in New Orleans. The French and Latin Corners are live with non-stop excitement. People flock to the Mississippi River for a massive fireworks display. The event features the Fleur de Lis drop and unveiling of the New Year Baby. Expect amazing live music food and fun through New Years Day.

New Year’s Eve brings multiple parades around the islands. These parades feature crazy costumes and colorful floats.  People call this the Mardi Gras of the Bahamas. In addition to that Pariusians celebrate with massive street parties. The parties feature exotic French champaignes, chocolates and food fit for a king! There are a number of more quite options for those that don’t like crowds but still want to enjoy the fireworks displays including taking a cruise on the Seine.

London, England

Everyone gathers in front of Big Ben to hear the official chime when midnight hits. Thousands of citizens gather along the Thames, local bridges and anywhere they can to check out an amazing ten-minute light display. The lights look extraordinary set against the backdrop of the London Eye and the House of Parliament. After midnight, Englanders party all night long to New Year’s Day.

The festivities in Barcelona are traditional and fun. Friends and family gather for La Nochevieja or the last meal of the year. Everyone should be sporting red underwear and eating 12 grapes just before midnight to bring good luck as tradition states.
